It's a brave new world

Skypecast.

Le Blurb: Skype has developed a function that allows users to host audio conversations with up to 100 people around the world at one time....the service is controlled by a designated host, who can choose to pass a virtual microphone to individual participants.

The possibilities are quite staggering to think about, but, my take on it right now is: The Global Virtual Talking Stick.

Coming to your ebay soon.

WAGtime

No people, it's not ragtime. Put away Mr. Joplin and his Entertainer.

No, it's not time to skip school and head down to the mall for some recreational shoplifting either.

Today is the day for WAG!

What: Wine Appreciation Group
When: 5pm
Where: The couches downstairs

I love how pissheads, alcos, booze-hags, and anyone else who has an emotional attachment to the point of 'appreciation' for their beloved, beloved grog refined beverages can elevate their hobby by initiating a social network based on it.

Which is fair enough, because, let's face it, who wants to drink alone?

I've worked in this place for over two years, and this is my first WAGtime. I like most of the people involved, but, the idea of sitting down and getting tipsy with various different co-workers is a bit of a bizarre one to me. I'll let you know whether I end up getting blind and seducing any of my colleagues how it goes though.

Free alco-mo-hol goodness at work.

I think everyone should have WAGtime.

Update: It was pretty tame. That's not to say I was expecting much in the way of visual entertainment, but, everyone was just fairly tired and non-chatty after 7+ hours of work. 'Twas nice wine & cheese though.

Naufana: The Movie

The links for the full story are at Frequency 23...

Naufana: The Movie

Tried to extend the sound track (made myself with the reason program) and add some images(also made myself...but that will be apparent) to kick start the voyage...

in keeping with a comment i made, i would like to start the "anonymous" appreciation society. what i am suggesting is that any time anyone sees an awesome quote attributed to "anonymous" they should quote it and with some context and send it to the H419 email account and then we can start some kind of "anonymous" message board. the context being where the quote was from; blog, message board, chatroom, office calender etc.. and some idea of what the thread it came from was about, or not depending which is funnier. i think this is a good idea that will help "anonymous" (whoever you are) live on forever with the accolades they truly deserve.

party on everyone.

I Dream of DreamTheatre

In celebration of newly discovered womanhood, I broke out the DreamTheatre today. I hadn't listened to it for awhile, because I killed it by overplaying it a couple of years ago. Quality stuff. If anyone feels like obtaining some DreamTheatre for their very own, I'd recommend listening to it an album at a time. Some bands make good singles. Some other bands make awesome albums.

It is exactly a month until I go and fight the beast that is university. Two more units to go until I tear from its teeth a bit of paper that I need and forever put it in its box. If all goes well.

One of those units is decided. I selected it for the ease with which I should complete it and its humour value. The other unit is still up in the air though. I have yet to decide between studying China, or studying herd behaviour. The behavioural one looks easier, but, the China one looks a bit sexier. Which should I select? Feel free to cast your vote. I probably should warn you however that, in all likelihood, I'll be going with the one that looks most palatable after attending a couple of classes for both.

Confiscation, Nigerian Magick, and Mr. X

O.K. I had to share this with you...

This is the first official work the T.I.T.A.N. agency is doing for Jay Abraham, yes... "the" Jay Abraham,

This is right out of the can...

I wanted you to see this first.

Nigerian Samuri...419

Your mission, should you accept it...

Is to sent this letter to someone who has $500.00 US for some of the most powerful business secrets you are going to get outside of one of those fancy $10,000.00 seminars.

If you have $500.00 that you are ready to spend on your future...now is the time.

Mr.X did not have half the tenacity of Dr.T, this is the lastest way we imbibe the compounds. Try it...send this to everyone on your list. You will feel dirty and you will love it...

Your mind will expand and then crinkle each time you share this viral jewel...

Enjoy,

Chris Titan

p.s. This is not my copy, I think it is Tellman's.

don't tell anyone where you heard this
Body: (firstname)...

I have to warn you: what I'm about
to tell you about has been creating
seismic waves of curiosity, rumors,

and barely-concealed raw greed in
the innermost circles of top-level
marketers--

the only ones who've heard about
this yet--

for the last 27 days.
https://paydotcom.com/r/6627/Chris_Titan/269962

It's been a top-secret back-room
rumor...

But at this moment, we, you and I,
are about to let this black cat out
of the bag, and dispel all rumors
once and for all--

Yes, it's true. It's all true...

Jay Abraham, "the" Jay Abraham,
has never before let ANYONE get
into his private storage vaults--

and you can bet he hasn't ever let
anyone turn EVERY SINGLE piece
of the worth-a-mint archived work
he owns into Digital products--

https://paydotcom.com/r/6627/Chris_Titan/269962

and you can be DOUBLY sure
he hasn't ever let anyone:

Walk into his private vaults,
Digitize every single piece
of work he's ever written,
and walk out again (alive)...

and then offer this digitized
goldmine up for sale online...

But that's exactly what he's doing.

One man got Jay to agree to this
(don't ask me how) and all I know is...

I am going to be first in line to own
the very first piece of this secret
digital project as it exits the vault...

https://paydotcom.com/r/6627/Chris_Titan/269962/

It's none other than the famous
'Mr. X Book"--

The Book Jay literally had to confiscate
from the guy who wrote it because
he was selling it on the black market
(and making a killing at it too)

Here's what Jay actually says about
the day he found out about this totally
illegal, underground smash hit...

"I was horrified -- yet in a funny way,
I actually admired the ingenuity and
resourcefulness of what he'd done...

"And then I got my hands on a copy
of the 'book' --

"I use that word hedgingly because it's
really a reference manual that any
business owner, entrepreneur,
marketer, or individual who wants
to be such, should hold close, as
a bible for successful marketing...

"It is packed with almost 400 pages
of money-making wisdom "Mr. X'
distilled from me...

"There isn't one wasted page.
Not one paragraph of filler.
Or one word of fat..."

https://paydotcom.com/r/6627/Chris_Titan/269962/

The upshot of the story is-- Jay owns
this 400 page killer marketing manual,
has been keeping it locked away in his
vaults, and no-one has been able to
access it digitally...until today...

when the mystery man I told you about
walked into Jay's vaults, Digitized the
whole Mr. X Book, and put it up for sale...

How can you get one?

There's only one way:

https://paydotcom.com/r/6627/Chris_Titan/269962/

And don't tell anyone where
you heard this!

--Chris Titan

P.S.
And remember: when you hear
other marketers gossiping about
this rumored "Jay Abraham Digital
Archives" thing...

you can just smile quietly, knowing:
you already own the first piece of
the "rumor" they're just getting wind of...

Two For The Bass

The challenge was this. Drink all of your remaining beers and ciders and then write and record 2 songs in 10 minutes.

I haven't even listened to them yet.

Song 1
Song 2

This might become a regular thing. If I have something to say, I'll sing it, you know? It could be cool. I mean, it probably won't be... but it could be.

Edit: Man, the singing is really quiet and um... English.

Give me my coffee, bitches!!

I was really looking forward to having coffee with my pastries and chocolate this morning when I got to work.

But, no. I couldn't. There are noooo coffee beans. Only the crappy, crappy instant shit, which I don't touch with a ten-foot-pole no matter how caffeine-desperate I'm feeling.

This situation is unacceptable. I want my money back.

On the plus side, I boxed a Badger this morning. I was quite chuffed about it, considering I'd been having little wrestles with the Badger on a daily basis for about the last week or so.

To reward myself, I'm engaging in pastry consumption (with green tea, a poorman's substitute for coffee goodness) & blogging on work's time.

The guilt will kick in soon, though. I'd better run away before that happens.

Before I do though, to those whom I owe an 'eee'mail to, please know that it's on the way, but, at this point, there just isn't enough room in my head & in my day for eee-ing.

In an effort to feed the viewers with something slightly more interesting than my nonsensical drivel pertaining to a Friday morning, here are the following:

A reading list you definitely don't want to check out. Das ist verboten. I'm actaully reading none of these at the moment, I'm reading 'Do Not Disturb,' a book about Austalia's media, but, I've earmarked a few.

A couple of language translation sites that definitely aren't useful or interesting. Allow me to state that it is certainly not the case that there's buttloads of humour and insight to be gained from copying & pasting random bits of English text and cycling them back and forth through the different languages to see what gibberish it comes up with.

A site that isn't good by any stretch of the imagination for interpreting what the fuck it is that I'm saying when I go into one of my infrequent trances.

Crap, the guilt has kicked in.

D'oh.

Ready to go

Well, I've held off announcing to the H419 crew until I was sure, but..

The time has come.

I'm having 'the' operation.

Sex Reassignment Surgery.

I'm going to need counselling, apparently, & some time off work, until I get accustomed to the new arrangement of my genitalia, the new sound of my voice and my newfound lack of body hair.

I'm a bit nervous (me no like pain), but, I'm also very excited. This procedure has been a long time in coming.

In other news, the more perceptive of you may have noticed that I've drawn up a new blog. My first post for that is in the works and will, in excruciating detail, describe my astonishing plans for a new world Australian order. It may not come out until after my life-changing surgical episode, but, please be advised that it is coming.

Unlike any real possibility of the Aussies winning the World Cup.

*skips off*

i have just taken a month off sleep

holy shit australia won. that was amazing. 3 -1 whoever would have thought.

so the world cup is on, every game starts at 23:00 the coverage finishes at like 7:00 am. i'm screwed. hurray for football.
the best reason to like the world cup is the abbreviated name of the serbia montenegro team. S&M. on soccernet the other day the leading headline was "dutch get ready for S&M." priceless.

in other news, i got a new tattoo, but i think i said that already. so there kinda is no other news. oh and that i'm heading north to canberra next week. so expect no news.

i suspect that my posts will get more and more bizzare with the absence of sleep that i am predicting during the world cup. so look out.

Zimbu Xototl Time

I am not in these photos. I am still waiting for those...but this is the dance party that I started accidentally. I was trying to get the girls to take off their shirts but it turned into a gay dance party. All these guys are heteros too...notice on the bottom our two gay friends are not pleased. One is pinching himself to make sure this is even real and the other has taken to drinking out of the 1.5 of rum to forget this ever happened.

http://www.philhine.org.uk/writings/flsh_zimbu.html

Zimbu Xototl Time

The Wild Boys, subtitled "A book of the dead" has been described by some critics as a homosexual version of 'Peter Pan'. Set in an apocalyptic near-future, The Wild Boys contrasts the struggle between the remnants of civilisation which exist in totalitarian enclaves and the wild boys - a revolutionary tribe of youths who exist in a utopian, instinctual state. The wild boys exist outside of the conventions of civilisation, free from the control mechanisms of religion, nation, family and 'normal' sexuality. A magical universe, where rigorous training in guerrilla tactics leads towards specialised biological mutations; where the total gratification of desire creates a magical technology of liberation.

In astral/dream excursions into wild boy territory, one should keep a record of all visions & other sensations which arise, and in particular, wild boy inspirations which break into one's waking life. I have found that, on successive visits into such spaces, different clusters of 'spirits' will hold the attention, if only fleetingly. I personally would resist the temptation to immediately 'bind' such desire-forms with sigils, names, and the like. With this kind of working, a different approach to dealing with spirits can be taken.

The wild boys exist in a world unmediated by the inner dialogue. This is particularly useful when we consider the development of prescience in it's various forms, as this is very much the territory of instincts, intuitions, gut-feelings and dreams. Tuning into the telepathic gestalt of wild-boy consciousness may well facilitate the development of prescience. Also, Burroughs makes various references in his works to the effect that the wild boys use a picture-language (another recurring Burroughs interest).

Burrough's description of the wild boys' uninhibited sexuality is also interesting. Their sexuality is devoid of sentimentality & meaning; unhindered by either emotional values or a sense of transcendence.

Zimbu Xolotl Time is the wild boy festival where the different tribes gather to meet, exchange fighting techniques and indulge in communal orgies whereby zimbus are created. The festival has no fixed date or place - the boys converge there instinctively:

"not know for sure until two weeks before time all boy stop fuck jack off he get there hot like fire" Port of Saints

It would be too easy to make the 'conscious decision' to arrive in wild boy country at Zimbu Xolotl time on the first occasion. Rather, I feel, one should be 'drawn' there, until one has built up some degree of a gestalt with the wild boys, and instinctively 'knows' that the time is drawing near, and abstains from ejaculating accordingly (sexual stimulation without orgasm can actually enhance the ability to enter this type of liminal space). This is a deepening awareness of an impending magical time which exists apart from dates, clocks, calendars.

Short Songs For Short People

Was going to be the name of my project. Even though I was openly aware that Fat Mike had already done that record. Besides, I've gone off the idea of short songs and moved onto the idea of slow acoustic songs with electric drums and other synth stuff. So I decided to change it to The Acoustic Guitar With Electric Drums Project, but that sucks.

Please, I need your bright ideas.

Also, I'm gathering a small list of songs to cover to hone my skills before I write my own masterpieces. So far, I have:
  1. What Is Love? (Baby Don't Hurt Me) by Haddaway
  2. Liar (It Takes One To Know One) by Taking Back Sunday
  3. Cornflake Girl by Tori Amos
  4. We Laugh Indoors by Death Cab For Cutie
I can't think of any more and to be honest, I'm not really sure about the Death Cab song. In that light, I need help once again. Please suggest one or two songs. Remember, slow acoustic... electric drums... So think of something that would sound so totally awesome when I strip it down like that.

Okay, thanks.

Edit: Hey, how about Project Mayhem!?

FNORD Poker

Mercury is Retrograde in Cancer and Leo from July 4th to July 28th, 2006.
17 Jun 2006 02:12 pm 2104' Mercury Enters Rx Zone04 Jul 2006 03:28 pm 0122' Rx Mercury Stationary Retrograde28 Jul 2006 08:33 pm 2104' Mercury Stationary Direct12 Aug 2006 00:07 am 0122' Mercury Leaves Rx Zone

The Game

I play a game called Street Tarot. You get dealt the cards by finding them on the street. I have been playing this Fnordian poker for many years.

Todays hand was interesting. A Chess piece was added to the mix to give it deeper meaning. I puzzled for sometime and finally resorted to Google the 21st Century Qabalistic tool extrodinaire. I got the attributions to the three of cups, Mercury in Cancer. Looked up mercury to find that it is going retrograde in cancer in a few days. BLAM...that is a quality fnord. But what up with the Black Rook. I ignored the Black Rook as Crow for a while even though the Crow is one of my totum animals. I studied some chess moves that involved the Rook. But when I looked up the reason for calling a Rook a Rook is when it got good. The first thing was the slang to be rooked, a rook was a trickster a swindler...perfect mercury image. The Chess allegory worked perfectly into this. The Rook is named after the Persioan word Rokh, which means Chariot. Mercury is in Cancer, Cancer is the Chariot in the Tarot. The Rook moves in straight lines. This is the First Law of Simpleology the Law of Straight Lines. The Rook is a Chariot and is also a trickster black bird.

The Eleventh Hour

Revelation 13 - 'Let him calculate the the number of the beast....His number is 666.'

What better way to see in the Day Of The Beast than with 7 & 1/2 hours of pure metal. Turn it up LOUD!!!!!!!

Such is the message on my TV screen.

Do you believe it?

I certainly don't.

But, I do certainly believe that this date (ie 06/06/06) has a certain significance. And I believe that a specific time on this date (ie 6:06:06am) has a certain significance also.

"Ooh, tell us what does it signifies? Please?"

I'm sorry, I can't. I know what significance I've attached to it, but, I wouldn't have the foggiest as to what meaning this specific point in time holds for you. I don't know you that well. 'Tis for each to determine....if you want it. If you're man (or woman) enough to whole-heartedly embrace the symmetry that is on offer today. I didn't actually plan to be awake for it, but, my spirits saw fit to kick me out of bed at 4am to ensure that I fully appreciated the symmetry.

(Either that, or to be entertained by a worthy Scot.)

I will say this, however. The Day Of The Beast: my ass. Who is 'The Beast' precisely? What is 'The Beast?' (Presumably Satan, Beelzebub, Lucifer or Ned Flanders, or another name for a generally undefined entity of which we are all supposed to quiver in fear and dread at the mention of.)

And, more importantly, why would any of us care that much anyway?

(Unless you don't believe in little things like free will and evolution, of course.)

Reminds me of a silly conversation I had with a superstitious lad yesterday:

Me: Hey, tomorrow's going to be a cool day. The sixth of the sixth of the sixth.
SL: But, isn't it, like an evil day? Three sixes?
Me: *sigh*
SL: I believe in Satan.
Me (That's nice..) Well, I don't.
SL: Don't you?
Me: No.
SL: Well, he believes in you.
Me: (Tell you that himself, did he?) That's....good. He should...um...keep up the good work.
SL: No!!! He never does good work. It's always evil work!
Me: K. *walks away calmly and dispassionately*

Quality Revenge At Last

I once met a guy called Bob Nanna, he made a joke about how his name is B.Nanna.

Bob was with his friend Mike, they were travelling the country and playing music. Bob went under the moniker of The City On Film while Mike used the name Owen. Bob had been in several bands. Hey Mercedes, Braid and The City On Film. He was good, I enjoyed his music and his company.

Trying to track him down recently, I found his blog.

As it seems, he has something wrong with him and is having chemotherapy. I'm sure he'll be fine but it's sad none the less. I also found that he was writing short songs. There's a company named Threadless and Bob writes songs that are sold with their t-shirt.

I thought it was a great idea to write short songs and sort of just give them to people. Very similar to what our Mishuki is doing. So I figure I'd buy some better equipment and give y'all some short songs and stuff. More on that later.

Happy Birthday AIDS!

On Monday, AIDS officially turns twenty-five years of age.*

I don't imagine that many mugs will show up for the party, though. AIDS has gotten a pretty bad rap over the years. Ya get that, y'know, being responsible for the deaths of twenty-five million people, and holding death over the heads of a solid thirty-nine million more and all that. But, you can't deny that it's accomplished a lot in its short life.

As such, this post is a bit of tribute to the phenomenon that is AIDS. Enjoy the following funtastic AIDS-related vids.

Funtastic AIDS vid #1: These hip gangstas have got it. No, not AIDS! It. They’ve got it. (Word.)

Funtastic AIDS vid #2: Dress-up dance video! Wo0t! If the guy on the right of the fairy didn’t keep pushing his hair out of the way, I reckon he would've been doing a fair impersonation of a Riverdancer.

Funtastic AIDS vid #3: Go Team America! Though, if you love it that much, you can search and watch the billions of other videos made of this song to convince yourself that everyone has AIDS. I’m not going to link them though. Just take my word for it. Everyone has AIDS.

Funtastic AIDS vid #4: Everyone loves cardboard box videos. Hey, don’t you just wonder what invisible girl’s leg would look like fried? Coz' I know it's at the top of my list.

Funtastic AIDS vid #5: An immensely handy (and realistic) guide to preventing AIDS. It is true what you heard: a picture says a thousand words.

Funtastic AIDS vid #6: Freddie Mercury contacts the Scottish youth. (So very jealous. I’ve been trying to contact him for years.) I think it’s quite clear that Spielberg would want keep an eye on these clever critters. These scamps could also have a budding future on Eastenders.

Funtastic AIDS vid #7: A nice animated piece promoting awareness. Homophobes, this is not for you. (Or maybe it really, really is...)

Funtastic AIDS vid #8: This is more like a drama or social science project than an English project, I reckon. Teach these high school brats some Shakespeare or something! Get them to read *gasp* a novel. Still, the cannibal guy has some pizzazz.

Near as I can determine, this has absolutely nothing to do with AIDS, but, if anyone can make out what she’s actually saying, apart from 'fuck, shit' et cetera (or knows where the fuck she gets her drugs), please enlighten me.

*The date that medical professionals and sickos choose to celebrate the existence of AIDS is the date it was first diagnosed as such (5th June 1980), but we don't actually know when the stork brought this baby here. We think it was sometime during or around '78 though.

A Song I Like...

I was listening to this song today and sort of grooving on the way Helios Creed uses the wolf jowling technique to get that really spacy sound. I sort of put my involvement with my band The Vryl Society on hiatus but plan to come up with some material for Hagakure as soon as I can.

This is a terrible recording...but I think the memetic virus is potent enough to seep thropugh whatever speakers you have. I suggest starting with it low and then turing it up.

It starts off with guitar that I think you might like and then goes completely into a realm that you can only imagine. Really this is the type of stuff you would be subjected to if we were sitting in my foggy redwood hideout doing N2O and choking down tubes of poisonus smoke.

Lesson One

It's not an incoherant as I had first thought but I'm still struggling with my voice. It is reovering from a bout of what is known as 'throat illness'.

Please learn from this:

Thanks, bye!

Keeping It Real...

What I like about this place is we share our real lives.

I am trying to get started at work today by clearing out all the spam that is faxed to Borderland Sciences. Who goes on vacation or buys a home from an ad they got on their fax? I hate the waste of my ink and paper so I will call these guys and have fun.

Today I met my first Toxick Mortgage Agent. I don't have the first call where he asked me if I wanted 1500 faxes sent to my phone and I agreed...but I did record the remainder of this real life adventure.

I Got It

*click*

And what I click it is.

So I don't really write very much here. Do you know why? It's because I look at it as a blank page that needs to be written on. And usually when I have something to write, I write it at home. But then it came to me then, that Hagakure is surely no blank page! In fact, it's more of a sand pit... No wait, wait. It's more of a cave. A cave that can't be filled with sounds and echos (which is actually sound still, but nonetheless).

Do you understand?

Hagakure needs to hear my voice more often. I decided that instead of trying to write here. I would talk here. I always have something to talk about and it is never ever useful or relevant. You can't buy material like that. I just need Mishuki to remind me how to access my storage space again... Because I forgot how.

Lecture 1 will be on animals. Please look forward to it.

an amazing revalation

while at work today i was listening to the radio and trying to decide which song i hated the most so i could blab to anyone who comes by this blog thingo. it occured to me that over the last couple of days i've heard pretty much exactly the same songs over and over again, so in a sense i've become immune, its really really scary. my revalation was that the radio station was trying to subdue any rebellious thoughts through mindless repetition like rote learning or something. so i tried to think about something else. then i realised that i didn't like my boss or my job much but currently i'm much to lazy to do much about it so i went back to listening to the radio.

also today i got to use a hammer drill and drill into solid concrete wall while there was lots of people in the shop. i had ear muffs, they didn't, suckers.

WTF?

It is like drinking poisioned tea. One sip and I can smell death on the breeze. Not the sweet smell of success but the tainted odor of ones own body wafting back in time on the subtle chi's and chang's of serpent energy that swirls and darts in the body. I can smell it and I can see some strange shadow puppet stalking me, some awkward looking shadow whose blade of darkness means to rend from me my name...

I can't say if the shadow is sucking me in or if I am compelled to step into the shadow...

Strange Chracters Blaze and a soft geisha voice calls me RONIN...

(-fnord is snipped from the net)
Usually set during the Tokugawa Era (1600-1868), the Samurai film (like the Western) focuses on the end of an entire way of life. During this highly repressive time period, wherein Japan underwent a long period of perpetual peace after three hundred years of Civil War, the samurai in essence became obsolete as members of the bakufu (military government). Instead, under the weight of an ever-oppressive bureaucracy, the samurai became ronin (man on the wave) and roamed the countryside looking for legitimate employment or just getting into trouble. And by 1868, with the beginnings of the Meiji restoration, the days of the samurai were numbered. Their legacy undoubtedly lives on, but as a tangible force to be reckoned with the samurai were done for. It would now be in the realm of the imagination where these dejected ronin would ultimately find a home.

Banned from the Firehouse Session

I showed up drunk while our new friend was recording this.

This is a rare out-take that didn't make it into the recording.

What you may not recognize is the cutting edge American style of wolf-jowling while you sing. My neighbors have complained about my cats recently so I have discontinued my montly sessions. I had a chance to POP in but I was thrown out and the song was re-recorded.

My throat is still a little hoarse from this weekend. Funny...I don't remember screaming...

I hope to have some pictures soon. Real life stuff...
